GENERAL TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY
For many applications, our preferred strategy to use off-the-shelf modules
such as a robot is sometimes not feasible due to its inability to deliver the required
functions in cycle time, accuracy, load handling or cost effectiveness.
In these cases, we have designed special purpose machine systems, with
product family flexibility, to meet the task objectives. These machine
systems usually employs advance robotics technologies such as vision systems,
servo control and sophisticated sensors.
Examples of where we had to engineer special purpose systems are where we had to
meet demands such as micron level assembly accuracies ( within 5 micron),
high cycle speeds ( 0.25 seconds), or solutions for compact space or to
fit within existing constraints.
Some interesting Special Purpose Machine Systems are described
in the following sections.
